Biographie

Elizabeth Fitzpatrick est professeure agrégée en audiologie à l’École des sciences de la réadaptation. Elle est responsable du nouveau certificat en études auditives-verbales qui a débuté en 2011. Elle a joint l’Université d’Ottawa en 2007 après avoir obtenu son doctorat en santé des populations à l’Université d’Ottawa. Elle travaille dans le domaine de la réadaptation auditive et de l’audiologie depuis 25 ans. Avant de se joindre à l’Université d’Ottawa, elle a tenu des postes d’audiologiste, de thérapeute auditive-verbale et de directrice au Centre Hospitalier pour Enfants de l’Est de l’Ontario (CHEO), Ottawa et au Central Speech and Hearing Clinic, Winnipeg. En collaboration avec des collègues à CHEO et à l’Hôpital d’Ottawa, ses recherches et publications académiques couvrent les domaines de l’enfance jusqu’à celui des adultes. Ses travaux de recherche sont principalement financés par une bourse des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC) de même que par une bourse de nouveau chercheur des IRSC. Elle détient une bourse de perfectionnement du Programme canadien de cliniciens-chercheurs en santé de l’enfant (PCCCSE). Depuis janvier 2012, elle est rédactrice en chef de la Revue canadienne d’orthophonie et d’audiologie. Elle promouvoit les services de réhabilitation dans la communauté et est membre du conseil d’administration de la Central Speech and Hearing Clinic à Winnipeg et de Voice for Hearing-Impaired Children.

• L’implantation cochléaire chez les enfants et les adultes particulièrement l’évaluation et les résultats des  « populations spéciales »
• Les services pour enfants (et familles) avec troubles auditifs
• Les revues systématiques en déficience auditive et en implantation cochléaire
