Biographie

Dawn Stacey est professeure agrégée à l’École des sciences infirmières et chercheuse à l’Institut de recherche de l’Hôpital d’Ottawa. En 2012, à la lumière de ses exploits soutenus en recherche, on lui a confié la Chaire de recherche de l’Université sur le transfert des connaissances aux patients. Membre de la Faculté des études supérieures et postdoctorales de l’Université d’Ottawa, elle est en double affectation à l’Hôpital d’Ottawa et fait partie de l’Unité de recherche sur les pratiques exemplaires en soins infirmiers. En juin 2010, elle a accepté la direction du groupe de réflexion sur les outils d’aide à la prise de décision pour les patients à l’Institut de recherche de l’Hôpital d’Ottawa (decisionaid.ohri.ca/francais/index.html). Elle a remporté le prix Jeune Chercheuse 2009 de la Faculté des sciences de la santé, ainsi que le prix d’excellence Pfizer en recherche infirmière 2012 de l’Association canadienne des infirmières en oncologie.

La professeure Stacey travaille à l’avancement de la science en matière de transfert des connaissances aux patients. Ses travaux de recherche ont pour principal but de comprendre, de mesurer et d’évaluer l’efficacité des interventions de transfert des connaissances chez les patients et d’évaluer des stratégies visant à accroître leur participation dans la prise de décision.

Mme Stacey donne de nombreuses conférences au Canada et à l’étranger sur le transfert des connaissances, le soutien et les outils d’aide à la prise de décision pour les patients, l’encadrement dans la prise de décision, la prise de décision partagée interprofessionnelle, les soins infirmiers en oncologie et les consultations téléphoniques. Elle enseigne et elle supervise des étudiants dans les programmes d’études supérieures en sciences infirmières, en santé des populations et en épidémiologie clinique. De plus, elle est chercheuse principale pour le Cochrane Review of Patient Decision Aids, cochercheuse pour le Cochrane Review of Interventions to Improve the Adoption of Shared Decision Making et coprésidente de l’International Patient Decision Aid Standards Collaboration (IPDAS). Elle mène ses recherches au Canada, aux États-Unis, en Australie, au Royaume-Uni et au Chili.
